This roast of four 100% Arabica beans is an ode to José Antonio Gelabert y Garcés, who brought the first coffee plant to Cuba and developed a coffee plantation on the outskirts of Havana. Rich, powerful and intense in taste with lasting crema & chocolaty undertones. Low acidity, slightly nutty and packs a punch.

INTENSITY LEVEL
Much misconception and misunderstanding arise when Intensity levels are discussed or described.
Simplistically, Intensity Levels refer to the richness and intensity of the aroma of the coffee when brewed or expressed and not to the caffeine levels.
Much like wine and chocolate the characteristics begin at planting. The soil, weather conditions and terrain have a lot of influence on the final intensity.
Harvest, storage, roast and overall production are as influential in the finished product we consume.
Here at Cafe Copium, we strive on perfection. Both brands, Cafés De Cuba & Cocaina Cubana, all have a unique profile and are on the strong intensity levels of 9 to 12.
The aromas are rich. Tasting notes are bold, smooth, low acidity and full bodied. Some have hints of bitterness creating a coffee experience with power and punch.
All are great as espresso but even better with any regular or plant based milk to create the perfect cup.
I have found the BEST CUBAN COFFEE and will not drink another.
Amazing powerful coffee. The company was great. Everything shipped quickly and was packaged perfectly. This coffee taste amazing but wow does it have a kick. It's like taking a pre work out lol. I've only had Intesity 9, so I ordered the 11 to give it a try. Glad I did, strong but not overwhelming. I felt like I was back in Key West, definitely recommended!!
To say that this coffee is smooth is definitely an understatement! This expresso is smooth, without acidity and bitterness. There is no comparison to other coffees. In my book. We live in the Seattle area. The so-called Starbucks capital and to compare it to them is like comparing gold with fools gold.
